Ok. I am in need of some help from you wonderful users out there. I traded my Samsung Fascinate with my son yesterday. The fascinate is rooted and has a voodoo lagfix. We did a factory reset of the phone, but some of my apps still showed on there. We activated it on his #. Now when he tries to go to the market, it is saying that it is still associated with my old gmail address and password. even entering the password doesn't help. Other apps are requesting my old gmail as well.

I am really confused on how to go about fixing this. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, it shows his phone # and he registered his gmail address as well. but still asks for my old one. Have tried factory reset from normal menu a couple times.

Thanks.

Which Google account shows in the sync settings?

ok, here is what I am getting:

When I try to remove my account:(gmail)

"This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults (which deletes all your personal data). You do that in the settings application, under privacy.

When I try to do the recovery/factory data reset:

E:cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(invalid argument)

I ran into a similar problem and I think it was the voodoo uninstaller on xda forums that finally allowed me to get around that and use Odin to install all of the stock hardware. Not sure you want to restore back to stock or not but at least run that uninstaller.

I think either way you'll have to uninstall voodoo first, but you should be able to get to where you want by wiping your data in CWM. I've found that method to fully reset everything, it just doesn't add your stock programs back that you've removed like flashing a stock image with Odin would.

You might want to try doing a factory reset in the Samsung Recovery.

1 Power off the phone
2 Power up the phone while holding the volume up/down button simultaneously
3 Use the volume down button to toggle to wipe data/factory reset
4 Press the home button for action while in the stock recovery

If you do that method while rooted, at least in my experience, you just bought yourself a one way ticket to the force close loop of hell. Not hard to fix if you have the tools, but booting into CWM and doing it there has always worked for me.

All Of this will work IF you disabled voodoo before doing this reset. If not...you added a lengthy step to the problem. Very easy if you follow instructions well....just lengthy. Sounds like the data position is still formatted voodoo style which is why you can't wipe it. Check xda developers development forum for how to remove voodoo

A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED ME OUT ON THIS ISSUE!!!
I finally got everything up and running like it should be on the fascinate! It took some time and patience but got it done.

Definitely was the voodoo lagfix thing. I had wiped my old memory card when i switched, so had to go back and do the clockwork mod on my sons card.

WOW! Thanks again to everyone out there. would have been lost without ya!:D

MODs can delete this thread if necessary.
