Phone not vibrating for texts?

Is this happening to anyone else? My nexus isn't vibrating when i get texts, its playing the notification sound, but no vibrate. I have vibrate set to always. Is this supposed to happen? anyway i can get it to vibrate?

Are you stock or running a ROM? And do you have any notification overriding apps installed? Such as Light Flow?

stock, the only thing i added was a vibrate widget, which allows me to easily change between ringer, vibrate, and silent mode. Im assuming thats harmless. So this is not normal then?

Download app sound manager. Go to advanced settings.

It is not normal.
I have mine set to always vibrate for one individual that texts me so often if I gave it a sound it would drive me insane. It vibrates every time.

I uninstalled that widget, did a battery pull and still not workong. It vibrates for calls just fine. Just not texts. Its kinda weird. I have vibrate set to always. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem, vibrates okay on ring, volume down, shut down, etc., but not for texts, emails, google voice, etc.

Stupid question but in the message settings did u check. Vibrate always ?

Same issue here. Phone not vibrating for text, only calls.... i was hoping someone had a solution.

Found the solution!! Go to messaging, click on the menu button on the bottom right corner of the screen, go to settings. At the very bottom, there will a choice that says "vibrate when notified" or something like that. Mine was defaulted to "never." So change to always!

Just tried Sound Manager V2, and set vibration to "vibrate whenever possible". Now all is well! Disappointing that this setting does not work in Android settings though.
