Well, I guess I can't restore 'em if they're all gone, right?

I was charging my phone earlier, received a text and opened it and boom! ALL my texts disappeared, save for the one that just came in.

What gives? Why? Why would this happen? I'm using the stock text messaging app - perhaps I should switch to a different app? This is TERRIBLY frustrating. It's not the biggest problem in the world but it's just flat-out annoying.

And to clarify, I don't have my phone set to automatically delete texts.

Unfortunately, this appears to be an issue across all Android platforms, not just the Thunderbolt. It is an issue with the SMS application itself, and sometimes, on a crash for any given reason, all data stored by the application itself is lost. I dont think there is a way to retrieve it either.

The only solution I can come up with to avoid something like this in the future, is to perhaps use google voice. The texts are stored in the google servers, so they wont disappear on you.

Look for Best Buys App called mIQ. It backs up your sms, photos, call log, etc. I had it on my Blackberry before jumping over to the Thunderbolt. Just a few of my texts didn't transfer when I put the app on the new phone. Plus you are able to login online and check your info out (Texts, calls, photos, etc.) Hopes this helps!

It happened to me once on my DInc... Yeah, if you have some messages worth saving, you should get some back up app.
