Phone rebooting

Hi y'all, I'm new to this forum. My HTC incredible has recently started rebooting at or around 2:30am every night. I have no idea why. I've done factory reset, but that didn't help. Other than the nightly rebooting, which only stops when I shut off the phone, no real problems with it. It'll freeze up on me once in a while, but a reboot seems to take care of that. I'm just sick of getting awakened every night by the phone rebooting. Any suggestions, tips, or ideas?

This is an unfortunate bug / side effect of the latest system update that HTC sent out. They claimed that it would only happen for a couple of nights and would stop once it ran through the cycles needed for the update, but in my experience that is BS. It was discussed extensively in this thread:

Setting the phone to silent will at least keep you from being woken up by the "DROID!!!" sound, although the flashing lights might still bother you. I've set up a profile using the Llama app to automatically silence my phone from midnight to 6 am, and I turn it over so the screen is face down - so although my phone continues to reboot randomly some nights, it doesn't wake me up anymore. I don't have to use my phone overnight, so that works for me. If you need to use the phone overnight, you might want to consider a new phone, because I've never found a consistent fix for this rebooting problem.

Otherwise, my phone seems to keep chugging along. I still love this phone despite the fact that it drives me crazy sometimes, so I'm hanging onto it as long as possible.

Thank you for the info. I did a cache clean, and I don't know if that did it, or if it just ran its course, but do far it seems to have stopped.

The above information should help. They also told me before I got my new phone to do a factory reset and that did seem to stop it but I got my s3 about a week later and gave my dinc to a friend. They have reported no problems since I did factory reset. Hopefully yours does not continue...

Thanks. So far no problems. Hoping it stays that way. :)
