Phone Serial Number

I noted that the S4's firmware info was out of date on Sammobiles.com. I contacted them & they asked for my phone's serial number to troubleshoot.

Is it safe in providing this?

I tend to think giving them the serial number to troubleshoot should be okay. I don't believe they can or would do anything nefarious with just the serial number. ...I wouldn't give them both the serial number and the IMEI/ESN though...just to be safe.
