phone shows as Vodafone uk instead of Talkmobile

how come my phone shows up as Vodafone UK instead of Talkmobile UK in top left corner under notifications when I drag down top of phone

If you're roaming, that's the network it'll show there.

Talkmobile is owned by Vodafone and exclusively uses Vodafone towers (kind of like Metro is owned by T-Mobile in the US). So this is not surprising.

Do you know other people on Talkmobile? Ask them what they see in their status bars.

Yup this happens occasionally. I'm on Koodo in Canada which is a sub of Telus.
Once in a while it will show as Telus.

Well my mum's phone shows TalkMobile UK on status bar

You could call TalkMobile's customer support. Perhaps it just depends on which tower the phone is connected to.
