I use it as an alarm clock and I overslept twice because of this. So now I'm back to using a clock that I haven't had to use in since 2008. A bit disappointing. I have an unlocked international version from Amazon.

It may be heating up too much. That would cause the phone to shut down. Turn off quick charge and see if that will help.

Are you using the original charger and cable? If not then maybe it is that that is screwing up the charging cycle.

Yes, I'm using the original charger and cable.

I'll try turning off quick charge. If that solves it, it's a let down that I can't reliably use quick charge.

Quick charge heats the phone up more. This isn't a problem if the phone was naked or if the case was thin. But if it was a thick case with the phone not ventilated well, it can overheat.

I have a thin case made of pu leather which is mostly plastic, I think. I guess I could try different cases.
