Hi all.

So yesterday my mom's note 5 had a flashing battery symbol and the green led indicator on for several hours. I reset the phone, and then it was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 boot screen. And it's dead now. I guess corrupted firmware download or something.

She has photos on there that were not backed up of family, and it's killing me seeing her all sad. I realize now that they were probably not backed up because she didn't know how, never asked, and I never thought to do it. (killing me...)

I know these phones have frp lock. Is there anything I can do to at least retrieve the photos somehow? I don't care if the phone never works again. She has a new note 8 now. I just am wondering if there is a way to retrieve data such as photos despite frp lock.

I've been working on trying to find a solution since 9am today... Literally did not eat food until about 4. My brain is fried. Help.

I'm afraid you may be stuck.:( The only thing you could conceivably do in Download Mode would be to reinstall the firmware, but this would wipe the data as well. Recovering data from a dead phone would probably require a forensic data recovery specialist, who would not be cheap.

Did you try holding the power key and volume down key to Sim a battery pull. My phone was stuck on the AT&T logo this morning and that's what helped me boot.
