Phone stuck on loop

So I have no idea what I'm doing. 90% YouTube and such websites like this generally help. Anyway. I have a Nokia 6 which is stuck on a loop first display is "powered by android" second display is "please release key to power" with a 10 second countdown.

This has happened a few times in the past week but somehow sorted itself out? This time though its been looping for above an hour.

I have attempted to do a reset by holding power + vol up. I end I with android on his back with no command prompt. I then have held power and pressed vol up then released. I end up back in the loop.

When the android in on his back I have tried
holding vol up and tapping power. Then releasing
Holding power then tapping vol down. Then releasing.

I'm really stuck with this loop. I have also attempted all of this with and without power cable.

It's my 9 year old sons phone who's only had it a month. So not sure if I should return it?

Any help will be appreciated.

I have also quick tapped on the no command bit.

Welcome to Android Central! You could try swabbing around the Power key with rubbing alcohol, in case there's some residue there that's keeping the Power button in a pressed state.

I'm not sure if it's been dropped. I've cleaned the area of the buttons. The power button is clicking so I'd assuming it making and disconnecting the contact inside?? It's still on a loop and I'm trying over and over. But still no luck to get past the android laying down.

I've managed to get into the reboot system now. After cleaner the buttons as one person suggested. I've done a factory reset. Just incase it was anything he downloaded or accessed etc. It's started to load and has spent the last 10 mns on the Nokia screen!

Ok, just to be sure -- when you see the "No Command" screen with the android on its back, you're pressing and holding Power, then pressing Vol Up briefly, then releasing both at the same time, correct? The sequence can be a little tricky -- each step should be about a quarter of a second.

If it keeps happening, then unfortunately, the firmware might be corrupt, or the motherboard failing. Did you get it brand new? Is it still under warranty?

EDIT: Whoops, I was typing this response and then saw yours. If it's stuck on the Nokia screen, that further suggests the firmware is corrupt.

It's a bit tricky after the dead bot to go into recovery but you have to try briefly like B. Diddy mention or hold the power then volume up and then release

OK guys. With perseverance and all your help I've managed a full factory reset. I'll not put sensitive data on it. That way if it happens again I'll take it back. Got 6 months warranty. Was just worried incase it was a virus or something. Great help guys. And also found an awesome site. No doubt I'll be back again. Thank yoiu

Great! Fingers crossed. If you keep your important data backed up or synced on a regular basis, you can still keep that data on the phone -- it's a good habit to get into anyway.
