phone turned off

I was on a very important call today and the next thing I know my dinc is shutting down. What's up with this? Actually happened twice today. But luckily not on the same calls. Has never done this before. Good signal. Battery was at 60% usage avail. Norhing running in the background
Has anyone experienced this?

Never has happened to me. I would try cycling power and chances are it won't happen again. If it does try clear cache and data in the application settings.

Mine did exact same thing today. Out of the blue it shut itself down and rebooted.

My does on occasion even during phone calls shutdown or restart once a day and don't have issues now

Are you rooted and running ROMS? over or underclocking?

Ditto - I had that happen when Virtuous came out with a new Alt Kernel that had a few bugs. Switched back to the regular kernel and it's never happened again.

Well that puts a whole differnet light on things.

I would suggest clearing cache out of all the apps listed in Settings -> Applications - all apps tab. that will at least narrow things down a bit, and see if it happens again.

I've only had it happen running custom roms but not when I was stock. Download a new app recently that could be the cause of it?
