phone unlock by smart lock, but ????

when i tap on the power button to wake up my phone, it shows 'phone unlocked by smart lock'...

but, i check settings -> smart lock -> and i did not set on-body detection, trusted places or trusted devices. so why do i see the above message when i wake up my phone?

i only setup fingerprints and face unlcok.

Can you show us a screenshot of the Smart Lock menu (i.e., the one that lists On-Body Detection, Trusted Places, Trusted Devices, etc.)?

You could also go to the Trust Agents menu and turn off Smart Lock there.

here is the screenshot of the Smart Lock. you can see i have nothing setup.

i can do that, but i was wondering why i got the initial 'phone unlock by smart lock' when you can clearly see i have not smart device setup.

I would restart the phone too. Just to make sure anything that might be cached in RAM is cleared.
