Phone Updated Itself

Strange occurrence but apparently I am not alone. Woke my phone this AM to find a window that said that my phone was updated with an OK button. Just a heads up. I am rooted with updates turned off and it still happened. Wish I had taken a screen shot.

Fwiw, so far I haven't experienced any ill effects and there is speculation that it is a service update. Still very unusual though because generally you are prompted for updates and are given the opportunity to accept or decline. Never had something like this happen before.

Same here, but I believe I have seen that before, when Sprint updates your location to improve your cell service that is the message you get, not sure why it happened though

Lol, as long as it is for service improvement then I'm in. Just odd because honestly I've been with Sprint for 9 years and don't recall this happening before. Of course, I am getting older and who knows how many brain cells I've lost!

I was half asleep and saw it and thought, "What did I update!!?" I am rooted so I am very careful about these things. That's what bothered me. Still not noticing anything out of the ordinary so I guess no harm, no foul.

Had the same thing. When I powered up, my G+ app was gone from my screen and when I put it back on, I had to log in again. There was a big G+ update so I'm guessing that was it.

I am on Sprint and had the same happen this AM. Pretty sure it is not just having to do with Google+ as I do not have it installed. The update might have also done a reset on passwords and such if it had anything to do with security.

Ok, glad I'm not the only one. I didn't know wtf happened and I definitely didn't accept any updates.

Maybe I won't get 1x as much.

Just noticed when I finish a call now, a loud annoying beep is heard. My phone was not like this yesterday. Currently the noise is coming from the phone when a call is finished and I have my bluetooth headset on and the alert does not sound on my headset. Interesting...

I had a failed profile update last night that I did not initiate. If I had to guess I would think maybe it was doing some sort of pre-scheduled or Sprint initiated profile update. The question would be why, and why all of the 3Ds all at once.
