I have a galaxy nexus and I Dont know if its mine or all but my single on my phone is terrible and I'm moving out in a rural area so my signal is even worse out there I'm wondering is there a phone that dose the best on Verizon as far as having the best antenna?

I have tried several phones and the one with the best I have found is the Galaxy Note2. It is far superior to the GS3 and even a little better than the Razr Maxx HD. I have tried both along with iPhone. I travel through the rural countryside a lot and the N2 has out performed them all.

I live and travel in the toolies, so radio sensitivity is always of interest.

In 3G, Moto, by and large, always beat Sammy by a surprising amount. Then again, Moto's been doing radios for many, many moons before Sammy was even a gleam in his Daddy's eye ^-^

Now recently, however, I've retested since there's some new 4G in a few nearby towns, and found them just about neck n neck on that band.

Somewhere under Menu-About Phone there's another menu item on all these smart y pants phones under which you can read the actual measured signal strength, shown in units of 'dBm'.

You will note they are negative numbers. You are looking for the larger number, i.e. -85 dBm is a better signal than -90 dBm.

When you are doing these comparisons try to avoid holding the phone by the antenna end !

The Moto phones have best reception on V. Their radios seem to work better with CDMA/LTE than others including iPhone and Samsung (at least in my area). My Razr works in the basement of my home where kids iPhones will not. Had Samsung prior to Razr and it would not work at all in basement.

This was true prior to the Samsung Galaxy Note II. I've found that the Note II has slightly better signal overall than the newer Motorola devices.
