Phone Won't Connect As Media Device

I'm trying to transfer files from my phone to computer because it's running low on memory. I'm done this many time before, but for some reason whenever I try to change the setting from Charge to Media Device, it won't change, it just goes back to Charge. Any ideas how to fix this?
