PhoneDog.com: HTC Incredible vs. iPhone 4

Man that was great. I like how he doesn't have that phone review tunnel version. This gives me a real opinion on the iPhone4 not a fanboy. Yep the incredible is badass.

I love that the iPhone 4 crashed twice during the video taping.
One thing I wished they wouldn't show is more of the customization on HTC's homescreens, like the scenes and widgets.
I think to those unfamiliar with the phones the incomplete homescreens missing icons may look odd.

LoL yeah I saw the vids too and iphone crash, I read some of the youtube comments and someone posted it crashed becaused he did not have any music saved or something like that :p I dont know tho if they were correct or not .

I thought the iPhone would at least have a sample song loaded on it. Don't they always have some sample music? If so, how could the crash be due to no music being on the phone?

It probably just needed to be rebooted. Either way it was a little embarrassing for the iPhone.

I'm sure there have been other bugs for both phones.

It was okay. He somewhat under represented the Incredible.

First, no mention of haptic feedback on typing - a HUGE Incredible advantage.

Second, the screen he was showing is not "stock" Sense that I've ever seen. Mine came with the analog clock and a live wallpaper running (the leaves floating on the water). But had that been shown it would have made the iPhone look worse.

He touched on the fully integrated search but did not really show what it is capable of.

And the "plasticky" thing is just baloney. The back has a rubberized grip coating and the screen is "gorilla glass".

There were lot's of omissions in this review, however I think the overall point was well taken that the Inc is plain and simple more powerful and Verizon reliability way better than AT&T. That being said, most of Android and Inc's capabilities and potential will be lost on the vast majority of "non-hobbyist" users. I recently noticed that a friend of mine was using an Inc. and started a conversation regarding process and apps. The user had no idea what their phone would do and sat in awe as I showed them Voice Search, several widgets and turned on the predictive typing. When I demo-ed the new speed dialer "Signs", my current favorite app, it was all over. When I asked why they bought the Inc the answer was what I would expect from the masses but very telling. "My contract on Verizon has a year to go and somebody told me the Inc was just like the iPhone. Case closed.
