To be honest, i haven't really thought too much about the tone of my posts. It just comes out. It's irritation i guess. I can understand love of phones and wanting the phone to come out and be everything we want it to be, but there are quite a few people here that really just want their high expectations validated instead of real opinions. How do we have intelligent debate about a product when the second you hear something you don't like, you make blanket generalized statements about entire companies (phonedog) to discredit their opinion?
That's like you and me disagreeing and instead of actually having a counterpoint, i just end it short with saying "well, you're an idiot anyway. Who would listen to you? You have no idea what you're talking about". That's not a debate. That's not a real discussion. That's me smearing you so i don't have to think about what you have to say.
Hell, i kept the smartass remarks to myself and just questioned someone calling phonedog biased. Did i get a response? What got noticed more, my smartass remarks basically saying "lay off and give phonedog a little credit" or the post after questioning WHY they thought it was bias?
I give people the benefit of the doubt. I think, given enough opportunity, people can surprise you in many good ways. But i could have a whole discussion about the "bias" issue and why it's wrong to discredit someone for voicing their real opinion, have a good sized post and not get a single real response. It gets frustrating. It's like we (the board) cater to knee jerk reactions that are based on a single un-complicated ideas. All i say is, fill your posts with arguments/counterpoints/solid stuff. Don't call names and don't generalize someone as a fanboy because they may have a different opinion. We're all here because we love this phone and can't wait for it to come out
