The Sprint Store charged me a $35 restocking fee for returning a defective phone. I do plan to call them and "discuss" this.

This is standard Sprint procedure if you're a current customer returning a device in your 30-day window. Good luck getting your money back, though, I agree you shouldn't be charged if you're returning a defective device.

Well my 30 day return will end tomorrow so it looks more and more that I will stay with my Evo3D. I have been Googling like crazy and still cannot find conclusive evidence that the call receiving/sending problem is being resolved. It seems to be hit or miss with different users. Some say the calls work and others say the calls do not work.

Does anybody else have anything to report about the call problems on their Photon?

I called Motorola and after 5 minutes on hold, I was told to take the phone to a Sprint store and have a tech look at it. I advised her I am a tech at a Sprint store " there is no fix known" I was asking if they had a fix or knew of the issue. She stammered for a minute and was unresponsive I ended the call at that point. I am going to do an AE ( advanced exchange) and hope I get a functioning replacement device.

Other then the call issue I really like the phone!!!

A call to Sprint got my restocking fee refunded. My upgrade is also back in place. Let's see what phones next month brings or if the Photon is adequately fixed soon.

I called sprint store and they told me to do a master reset which i assume is wipe the phone so I am going to do that and if it does not work he said just to bring it in tomorrow and he will switch it up for me.

Tow of two bad for me, my friend in NH was more stubborn and gave up after 3.

A local Best Buy has had the 6 they received returned.

Radio Shack just dropped the price to $99 two weeks after it was released.

Either my area in NE got a load of bad production phones or something just a tad more widespread is going on here.

I'm having the same issue.. its really annoying. I'm wondering if I should return it and try another phone or just stick with it and home for an update :-\

I wish I had tried that, since I don't need the international capabilities. This sounds like it might work and is easy to do. Oh, well... too late now.

Called Radio Shack. I have until 9pm tonight (closing time) to go back and return my 3D and get the Photon. Today is when my 30 day return expires from when I got the 3D. I just wanted to know quickly before the day ends does anybody else have any updates on this?

So far I heard about removing the SIM card and the calls are working. Anybody else have anything to report?

Andoman, do you have anything to report? The last report you gave was a couple of days ago where you had 60 hours uptime with the calls working. Any news??

I did a hard reset factory reset wiped everything and so far so good??

I went to the sprint store yesterday and got a new photon. When I got home and tried to make a call it did not go through I had to restart. Going to see if it happens again today not sure if I want to go get another one or just wait for the darn update.

I'm on my second one and both have been the same. After sitting overnight I would get the no audio and a reboot fixed it for the rest of the day. One thing I do notice when it acts up is, if I am making a call I get a split-second of static as soon as I press the call button and then it goes to no sound.

A few days ago I did a factory reset and changed network to sprint only and did not set up my gmail account on the phone. Since then I have not had the issue.

i read on xda that someone thought Google voice was the culprit. Your post backs this up. Anyone here have the problem w/o Google voice?
