Is there a Photos file count anywhere on the OS?

In the Media Scan database, if you want to do a COUNT WHERE the type is photo. (You'll need a SQLite app and a little knowledge of SQL.)

Thanks, but I should have specified: an instant count, without relying on third-party apps.

I found that if you go to Drive -> Google Photos and hit Select all, it gives a count of all media there. It's slightly higher than the count in the Photos app; not sure why yet, but presumably everything in Photos should be there, so I guess this will do for now.
