sorry, but i'm curious (please don't kill me), why is that information important to you?

I see it as a fine example of precision engineering.

I would view this as very important detailed information as it would tell me if dirt or stuff will get caught between them.

But I'm sure it's very flush.




Anyways, I am going to the Verizon store (again) to see it in person, since they promised to have them in-store today.

It's flush on the top and the sides but not quite on the bottom. I think the glass is weird anyway but I assume it's there to help guide you to the back sensor, which I'm still on the fence about.

However, I'm going to put the thing in a case anyway so it doesn't really matter to me.

Verizon. Mine came in the same box. Literally the only difference between the Verizon version and the Google play version is the locked bootloader that can't be unlocked on a Verizon device.

It's a matter of choice: the color reminds you about old cheap phone, it reminds me of some furniture and art work from my HS days. And I like different colors. That's why my current phone is a red (more like blood orange) Nexus.

I agree most of us will put a case on. I wouldn't though and was curious to know it. However, Apple still touts the iPhone to have the best in-hand feel (even though most iPhone users still have a case on). So, if this device is to stand up against the iPhone, it very well stand up against everything the iPhone is applauded for.

With the iPhone, the glass logo sits flush in the metal body to such an extend that you can only feel the difference in material as you slide your finger over it. It is seamless. And integrating metal and glass impeccably is quite a task. My phone to date is the HTC One M7 where the front has metal and glass coming together. And I can tell, though they look pretty flush, you can still tell they're separate pieces when you touch the joint. Where as with the iPhone, the integration feels like one.



And that's the reason, I called it a fine example of precision engineering.

Could anyone please confirm this?

On the back of the phone where the bottom of the glass meets the aluminum body, can you feel the seam/joint when you run a finger on it? Or is it pretty seamless like the apple logo on the back of an iPhone?

I was just at the Verizon store, and got to handle four different Pixels. All of them have the glass as being "higher" than the aluminum. That is to say, it's not flush but there is no gap. it's simply raised very slightly. I was only able to detect the edge by running a fingernail across the aluminum and over the glass.

My biggest concern is dirt getting stuck in there, which should NOT be an issue!

The Pixel feels amazing in-hand. I love it and can't wait for mine in November.

Well I would have to feel and play around with the blue phone. A photo is one thing, actual use for a minimum of a year is another. I was regretting my red Nexus 5 until I got it in hand. So glad I took the plunge.

I went into my local Verizon Corporate store at lunch to look over the Pixel and XL. I really like the size of the 5" Pixel; the XL is roughly size comparable with my MXPE. Just got to wait and see what some Pixel users say about battery life.
