PIcs of your Pixel 2 XL burn in.

I just want to see something other than the bottom bar being burned in...Where are all the bright wallpapers that should be burned in?

I can imagine that's what Googles team is trying to get happen right now. I think the phones are coming out of the box with bottom buttons burned in and somehow this is something that will not be an issue, but does need an explanation.

If anyone has a wallpaper that would cause burn in better than my own, I would like to display it for a month to try to get it to burn in....

2 questions:

Why would they have burn out of the box?

Why would you deliberately want to damage your phone?

I don't believe it has a burn in problem(above the bottom bar), and the only way I can think to prove is to to run a bright wallpaper.

The bottom bar will never be seen by me.

Just avoid the potential risk and return your phone for something different. That's what I did.

Less than 1 day...

And burn in.. I really couldn't believe it. I thought to myself, let me get that gray wallpaper and check and sure enough it's there. I checked again in the morning to be sure. There it is. Does this point to something more fundamentally wrong with the panel?

It just confirms my suspicion that the phone is not the problem, the gray test screen is. I can't reproduce the problem with any other color.

But the test wallpaper isn't producing the outlines seen, it's the screen. So not sure how the wallpaper can be the issue? May be visible on gray and not others.. not sure.

IMG_0042.jpg Mine wasn't really burn it I think mine was just a flat out bad screen/device.. I started to get that dark line across the top of the phone right below where the notification bar was. Overnight while not using the phone it would go away completely but after an hour or so of use it would creep back in (all this in the first 24 - 48 hours) by day 3 it picked up a second line about 1/3rd the way from the bottom of the screen that looked exactly like this one across the top. Finally late on the third day of having the device I started having issues with the touch screen not responding. If you turned the screen off for 10 or 20 minutes the touch would come back but within 1/2 an hour it started to act up again so I got an RMA and returned it for a full refund. Too many other people reporting issues to get a replacement. Ended up getting an Essential phone for 1/2 the cost. Maybe if Google and LG get these issues worked out I'll revisit the device in a few months. For now the Essential is a pretty good phone and it's a little easier to look past some of the areas it's lacking due to it being 1/2 the cost of the Pixel....
