Picture saving problem

Whenever I try to save/download pictures they never show up in my gallery. They save if I screenshot them but not pics from Google. I do have a sd card in

I saved a picture from Twitter and it saved to /storage/emulated/0/dcim/camera/

I saved a picture from Chrome and it saved to /storage/emulated/0/download/

I use Quickpic as my photo viewer

I use Plume for Twitter and Firefox as browser. All of the photos I save are going to a "download" folder on the sd card. I can easily see them under the Gallery and Quickpic app.

It depends on the app you use...some have options to change, so do not. If you're rooted, there are ways to circumvent default saving locations, but otherwise sometimes you are stuck.

Note: Some apps will, by default, place a ".nomedia" file in the directory where it saves stuff, specifically to avoid having those files appear in the Gallery.
