Pictures from Kik no longer saving to Gallery after uninstall/reinstalling?

[Android Central Question]

The photos and videos that I have sent via Kik used to save to their own folder in my gallery. Since I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, this feature does not happen. where are these photos going?

I tried the August 19 download. Still have the same issue.

Oh well. I guess we'll just have to email them.

It's not like I changed any of the settings on app so it must have been latest update.

Same issue. Files are 'saved' but not retrievable.

I'm having the same issue tried allsorts to save the images from kik. When I download it says image is saved then look Google Photos its not there? Look in downloads not there? I have sent a query to kik however no response. Its so frustrating. Checked all the settings nothing.. any help would be very much appreciated

It's a kik issue, hopefully they are aware and are working towards a fix.

Yes I am facing the same issue since yesterday, I save a video or photo from kik, it says saved, but I can't find it in my gallery.

I used Android File Transfer on my iMac and found the file with all the pics and vidoes in it. See the attached video..

Open Samsung My files App on your phone the tap internal storage you see any files name kik?

Pictures wont save

I am having issues saving pictures from Kik on to my gallery. It just stopped doing it a while back. I have uninstalled and installed the app again and it doesn't save. It gives me the check mark on kik that they're saved but I have nothing on my gallery.

Hello, I was have the same problem as everyone else since October 23 2021. After reading this thread I uninstalled Kik, then downloaded the APK from Aug 19 2021, the link was supplied in this thread.

After that it seems to have solved the problem and everything works fine

I have a pixel 5 and it just started happening last night after updating to Android 12. If I saved or took a picture in Kik I could find it in my picture library. Now they're being saved to

/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/kik.android
