The photos and videos that I have sent via Kik used to save to their own folder in my gallery. Since I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, this feature does not happen. where are these photos going?
Why isn't kik messenger making a folder with its name where it saves pictures anymorem
So I'm talking to someone and I wanted to ask a question about something in the image, so I hit the download button. But when I checked in my files, where there would normally be a folder named "KIK" where the photos get saved, no such folder or picture exists.
Any ideas why?

I actually found where they are being stored now. It's just complicated to get to.
I'm using mixplorer, but I think any files application would show you.
So you basically go like this through the file directory: internal storage > android > kik.android > files > kik
And bam there's the pics.
Dunno why they moved it to there, makes it a lot more difficult to find, but maybe thats what they intended, who knows.

My kik pictures and vids not saved on my album
I have been using kik for a long time. This pass few days what ever videos or pics is send to me I am not able to save it . Even though when I download is its shows as saved but its missing from my album and I don't know where its saved

Just a reminder here some members had success with older version so I recommend giving that a try until kik responds back
I've tried older versions on APK link which are suggested they fail to upload even though I've changed my settings to allow access. I've also try a file manager app I think someone suggested mixplorer I couldn't find app store so just with another however no saved photos on there. It's getting so frustrating kik must know there is an issue why aren't doing anything? If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know many thanks.

Use your file manager app to go to the /android/kik.android/files/kik directory, and see if there's a file called .nomedia there. If so, then delete that file, and see if the photos now appear in your gallery app. .nomedia instructs the system to ignore that directory when scanning storage for images to add to the gallery database.

So ive followed the whole thread. In the file manager ive found my old pics and moved em to internal storage but all the new kik pics get moved to like android>data>kik.android . so ive moved kik.android to my new folder; and took a new pic and it just created a new kik.android in the data folder in the kik folder in the android folder. So still not showing up in my camera roll in the app. How could i get it to just save where it used to? My screenshots and stuff from my phone camera still show like they used to

From what I gather from others is installing older APK but u need to Uninstall the current one on the device

Did you also look in that directory to see if there's a ".nomedia" file? You might need to make sure the file manager app is set to show hidden files/folders.

I figured all out....for android
Go to files.
Delete .nomedia
Go to kik.android files
Go to files
Go to kik
There will be everything you saved
Move files to downloads
Everything will now be visible on camera roll.
I saved from kik again and .nomedia was there again. Tried the above without deleting it and it still worked

Ok. So I have Kik in the secure folder. Downloaded a file explorer app. I can see, and delete the .nomedia file. (Internal Storage/android/data). Within a minute, the .nomedia file is back. Anyone know how to prevent it from coming back?

I have an S20 Ultra and it just randomly stopped saving anything to my kik folder as well. I haven't found anything despite trying what everyone has suggested. Not using a secure folder. Doesn't even give me the option for storage in permissions. This started a couple months ago..maybe October ? Help!
