Pictures in device storage not loading to gallery --- help

A

AC Question

I hate the fact that this phone on has internal storage.
-I successfully transferred my files from my computer to my s6 edge. However, it is only accessible via the MYFILES folder. WHY IS THE PHONE NOT SMART ENOUGH TO AUTO LOAD THEM TO MY GALLERY? (same bs for audio files)

-I then moved them out of their folder and put them directly into the DCIM images folder where the my current images are within the gallery. They then were visible there for a moment and now they're back into the MYFILES folder and not my Gallery folder.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE?

PLEASE HELP...

Because files don't get loaded into apps. Copying a file to the phone doesn't trigger Media Scanner, which is what creates the list of media files on the phone, so after copying files to the phone, either run an app like Rescan Media or restart the phone.

No, they're not in My Files, they're visible with My Files, because My Files is like Windows Explorer - you can see all the files on the phone with it. But media apps can only see files that have been scanned by Media Scanner, so just copying or moving files won't make them show up in Gallery or a music player, because moving and copying don't trigger Media Scanner. (Taking a picture or recording audio does trigger it to add the new file to the list.)
