Android Central Question

After 3 minutes while gaming or reading while not touching phone of if its on the counter it fades to a dim screen and puts a small blue lock I have to swipe to brighten things up again. How in the heck do I turn this off??

Note 9. I like to have a page to read open or a game chugging away in the background. Before Pie I was able to do this ad nauseam. Now no matter what setting I adjust, I put the phone down and in about three minutes the screen fades (I can still see whats going on) and a blue lock icon is in the middle of the screen till i swipe.

Ok, let me move this to the Note9 forum for more specific traffic -- hopefully someone else with a Note9 is familiar with that.

I believe there a setting in game mode should look in it see if it has screen time out or Lock.

Hello ToTQ, welcome to the forums at Android Central!
Funny coincidence, TQ are my initials!
I have been using Pie on my Note 9 for a while now, never seen that small blue lock.
On the screen timeout you can set it up to go off until 10 minutes, I didn't find a similar setting on the game launcher, but I know that fortnite has a setting for notifications and stuff.
Maybe it is a setting on a particular game.

:)
It's all my game apps and it only started after Pie update. I have set time to 10 minutes but after 3 in any game....

No. I have downloaded some clicker apps to keep registering clicks to keep the screen on as well as some keep alive apps to keep the screen on as well to no avail.

Just go over some setting and apps you recently downloaded .

The reason I downloaded apps was to get rid of the lock icon. It happened before I downloaded any apps to try and stop it.

The setting should be in Game Tools, there should be an extra button on the bottom that is game tools then go to advanced game settings and turn auto screen lock off
