He said he ODined it, meaning that he manually installed it, it hasn't been officially released yet. It is sweet, things are so much smoother on my Sprint Note 8.

Does anyone know how these staggered roll outs work, as in how they decide who gets it and when? is it a certain area at a time, set # of downloads a day? I'm curious because I've never gotten anything the first day it was out

How is your LTE performance? Sprint forum had Sprint officially acknowledge serious LTE problems and an additional fix/update. I am not updating yet...

I haven't had any problems with LTE but I travel in an area with a ton of towers. This update actually makes it seem like a new phone, unlike Oreo which felt like an update.

Yes it feels like a new phone & includes 5G We're on AT&T. My Note8 received it early Friday morning the 29th but my husband's Note8 hasn't got it & it's now Sunday midafternoon.

Not to burst your bubble but ATTs 5G is a marketing ploy right now, the Note 8 doesn't have a radio in it capable of receiving 5G and the carriers don't have any towers lit up yet. But that's a whole thread unto itself.

Did your husband go into the settings menu and scroll down to the updates and manually try to get it?
