Pie Update and Bluetooth Issue

Re: All of my synced bluetooth devices disappeared from phone just now.

I'd update to the S10+ if the stores near me would ever get them in stock.

Re: All of my synced bluetooth devices disappeared from phone just now.

Has this happened to any of you? I took a call through the bluetooth in my car. I got out to run some errands, and when I got back in my car my phone asked me to pair with my car again. The my watch did the same thing. So, I went to my bluetooth settings and everything was gone. I have had the update since it came out. So, it's not like it happened during an update.

This happened to me yesterday, and I tried pairing with my car again but it wouldn't connect. A message kept popping up saying my car was trying to connect, and I would click ok, but nothing happened. Or the same message would pop up several times but immediately disappear before I could click on it
Did you find a solution?

Re: All of my synced bluetooth devices disappeared from phone just now.

I had it happen to me twice while on CSAA. Once I upgraded to CSB3 I havent had it anymore.
I'm seeing the same result. Happened to me at least three times while on CSAA and then stopped after updating to CSB3.

Re: All of my synced bluetooth devices disappeared from phone just now.

Yup, I started a thread on this a few weeks ago. Started happening after the Pie update. I can recreate the issue all the time if I do a full shutdown of the N9 then power it back on. All BT devices disappear and I have to repair everything again. Good thing my S3 doesn't require a reset to repair it.

Still stuck on January security patch on AT&T so not sure if the latest update will fix this issue.

...and it's NOT because your SIM was in your S10 - they just haven't sent the damned thing out to us yet for some unknown reason? And they have it - someone posted a screenshot of the "About" page showing an AT&T Software screen with CSB3 on February 15th but only that one person??? WHY can't we have it???

Yeah, that person in question always has the latest release wayyy before we get it. He must work for AT&T or something. That's why whenever he posts about a new update I don't get too excited. At least we know one is coming. Lol

I've been suffering with this one too. I noticed that if I reboot by holding the power key down I did not lose my BT devices, however every time the auto-restart occurs all of my BT devices are gone. Very consistently.

This has only ever happened since the Pie upgrade. I had my phone set to auto-restart every Saturday at 2am and without exception, on Saturday I'm re- pairing all my BT devices. It was only this morning I realized the connection.

Seems like a Pie or ONE UI bug to me.

Can someone test that theory on their Note 9?

I am having the exact same issue except it happens when my scheduled restart of the phone happens. Last week and this week all my bluetooth devices were gone after each restart. I'm going to try turning off the automatic reboot because I'm positive I've done a regular reboot from the power button with no issues.

I tried these changes 3 days ago and now am not having Bluetooth connection issues that I had been having with my smartwatch and car. I went into Apps>Show System Apps, then went into each Bluetooth app, selected Battery, and turned off Optimize Battery Usage. Then I reset my network settings and restarted the phone. So far so good for 3 days, am hoping it isn't just temporary like other fixes I have tried. Connections are happening automatically like before Pie update. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one!

Huh. After Pie update to Verizon Note 9, BT connectivity with my PC went away.
The phone could see the PC and the PC could see the phone, but BT swaps failed consistently.

Now a simple restart seems to restore functionality. Guess I'll have to turn on auto restart.

Nice, Samsung, nice.

It has been over a week since I did this fix and it is still working - all of my Bluetooth devices are connecting automatically.

Same issue here Note 9 after System Update 6 April 2, 2019. Loses all BT devices and Smart Lock Trusted Devices since update. Seems to happen after rebooting. When connecting, BT prompts for pin with device connections previously used (no longer saved in phone). Just tried battery optimization change suggested by others. Hopeful it works and following thread.

deleted - back button, bad. edit/delete button doesn't have an option to actually delete that I could see and I have been looking hard. If it is there, they hid it well. Bravo on hiding!

@Aby_Cat I was suddenly having these problems starting this morning and just tried your changes and so far, so good. I survived one reboot with one device paired. That is because a reboot wipes them all out. Painful. Hopefully, it isn't just a temp fix like you said. I really don't want to do a factory reset given it may not even help.

Bluetooth connections have been working great for 3 weeks since I turned off optimize battery usage in the Bluetooth system apps and then reset the network settings (yes, I know this part is a pain, but it is working). Not sure why Samsung didn't figure this out before Pie update but hoping this thread helps other people with same problem.

Hi Team

Worked perfectly for me, Note 9 bluetooth issue (disconnecting and freezing) with Android 9 on Jaguar XE car.
Turning off Bluetooth App Battery optimisation did the trick, while we should wait for Android fix or car manufacturer fix.

Thanks folks

I never had battery optimization turned on and losing my Bluetooth connection still occurs intermittently.

So, now what?
