I am back to vanilla android since upgrading from G1 little over a year ago. Now hate admit I believe I really under utilized the customization with my first android device and I don' t want to that with my N7.

I would like few recommendations to pimp out my N7 homescreens.

What great widget apps for weather, clock and calendar do people use?

Any good background or wallpaper apps to look into?

I have been blessed sense widgets for long time but I grow tired of their industry look.

As you can see from my screen shot my home screens suck.

Definitely a minimalist approach.

Mine

Beautiful Widgets, Stock calendar (on my phone I use Jorte's 4x1 for the week view, but it doesn't format well on the tablet), Google Voice, Google Reader, Google Play Music

HW Widgets with High Res Icon Pack (I think i have the 4x4 stretched for the whole scree and still looks good), Jorte Calendar (month view), Black Background for me.

My favorite apps for customization are Beautiful Widgets, Minimalistic Text, and Simple Text. For wallpaper, I use Picspeed.

Nothing crazy, this is what I have as my home screen for now. Using HD widgets. I tried beautiful widgets but I didn't like it.

Just some basic widgets and my news junkie reading apps.

Here is mine. Sorta boring.

Wifi symbol widget is "Wifi Toggle Widget" on GP
Clock/weather is "HD Widgets" on GP
Battery widget is called "Battery Widget" on GP

Mine is fairly minimal, mostly black. I'm using the Starfield 2.0 livescreen, set to the slowest speed and minimal number of stars, no color stars. The HD Widgets clock and weather, and the supplied calendar widget.

Any good calendar widgets that can be resized or come in different sizes.

I found a live wallpaper (Mystic Night) that is really cool so I'm trying to keep all the icons and stuff off my main home screen. I have to slide right to get to my stuff and even that I'm trying to keep simplified in folders of only the stuff I use most often. Of course when I get bored w/the wallpaper this will prolly all change.

Is no one using a different launcher like Apex or Nova? Tons of options that allow for pretty amazing customizations. Try the free versions. It seems like the tablet would be better with the homescreens able to go to landscape.

Pure grid calendar is by far the best. Nothing else comes even close

I never really been a fan of launchers. I have dabbled in a few and nothing ever stuck with me.

im keeping mine fairly stockish, just lining up my most used apps. One thing i would like is a good live wallpaper. If anyone has any place i could preview them or browse a list that would be great.
