PIN lock not working on the S4?

So I set a PIN lock on my S4 today, but it doesn't seem to be working. It still only takes a swipe to unlock the phone. Under "Screen lock" on the lock screen settings menu it says "Secured with PIN", but when I lock and reopen the phone, it still only takes a swipe to unlock. No idea what's going on, is anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

It will lock after the time you set has passed.

Just turning off the screen won't immediately lock it I've found.
