Pixel 2 Bluetooth Audio Quality With Music Playback.

To confirm I'm using Spotify. Believe the eq is global so the app you use is irrelevant?

This is the case for wireless speakers as well. My pixel 2 sounds very "muddy" and distorted on my jbl power up. Microsoft lumia 950xl sounds fine.

Re viper, I did some googling and it seems it can be installed without root I did not however find a clear guide as to exactly how to do it and it seems to be a moving target depending on the OS version. Also there were conflicting reports that viper does not work with usb-c audio?

If there was an idiots step by step guide I’d probably do it but I just fear I’d break something tbh.

Have you tried changing the Bluetooth settings under Developer Options? Several choices in there. I am now seeing the label "HD audio: Qualcomm aptX audio" after I connect to my speakers. Never seen that before, but speakers and sound is great. (also using equalizer fx).

Equalizer FX destroyed my volume aka when enabled it reduces my volume dramatically, on headphones and bluetooth. Using the Loudness effect brings some of it back but not enough, plus I don't want to use that effect. Does it do that for anyone else?

Some of the presets are terrible but others are ok. The pop one is hilariously bad. If I'm brave I may try viper over the weekend.

I use Spotify, Google Music, equalizer FX to set my sounds all Bluetooth through my car sounds great including the base

Those presets are garbage without touching the EQ. This is my setup. I'm more bass heavy, although I turned off it's boost.

I had just posted this on another thread, but yeah, anyhow...
Interestingly enough, I prefer the sound I get from bluetooth and wired on my OnePlus 5T over what the Pixel 2 can produce. In my car is where I especially noticed the difference of the two, for some reason the 5T was just producing much fuller sound than my Pixel 2 did for the same songs. I also use Spotify btw.

Just at a third-party EQ into that and you'll have incredible sound^^^

Having used it for a few days I do not think the equaliser fx does anything that the built in one does not it is just easier to adjust.

There is just something a little harsh to the sound for me with the eq off. It is hardly terrible but having heard other phones it is hard to un-hear!

I maybe need to get braver and try viper. I am still holding off on selling that V30!
