Pixel 2 Launcher?

Will the new Launcher be coming to our older Pixels or are we left in the dust on this? I like some of the new features it would be nice to have on the OG Pixels.

If I get a Pixel2 it will probably have the same launcher as my Pixel. Nova.

I'm assuming it will come with an update to the Pixel launcher. Give it time, the new phones were just announced.

According to this guy on Reddit, a Google rep confirmed that the Pixel 2 launcher will be available on all Pixel devices when 8.1 rolls out.

I use Nova, and simply have it set up as a much better and more functional physical facsimile of the Pixel launcher, so no doubt Iwill continue that with the Pixel 2 launcher.

The new 12mp sensor is physically different allowing the software to distinguish background from people. There is a YouTube video explaining it.

Yeah I would not expect portrait mode to make it over since that's more a new hardware thing even though it is software based as well. I'm interested in the home screen appearance as well as the AOD and the always listening for music. My current Pixel XL is always listening for OK Google so not sure why the music part couldn't work as well.

Before I saw your reply I found "Custom Beam" in the store. Very similar. Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread.
