Pixel 2 (non XL) who genuinely does NOT have the ticking noise?

Anecdotally it seems that not everyp2 does which if true kind of makes the planned software update no more than a hack (probably just to switch off NFC under certain conditions)

I would really like to buy another P2 though so kind of hoping it is not as widespread as the interweb suggests.

How's yours?

Thanks. Mine had a whine as well as a ticking. There was a delay with the ticking, held it up to my ear and it was just the whine (intermittent) and a few seconds later the ticking.

Ticking is inaudible on normal operation (listening to the earpiece) while NFC is on. There is audible ticking if I listen through the back glass though (which I wouldn't have checked had it not been for these threads). It's a non-issue for me then since I won't use the phone listening from the back glass. I do not hear the "whirring" noise either way.

You should be able to get one, Neil. I ordered a white 128G from Google on Wednesday night and it's arriving today. Website claimed it was shipping on the 15th and it shipped almost immediately.
