Pixel 2 Random Restarts

Never had this problem before until I drove home for Thanksgiving. On the drive, when we'd go through areas without 4g/lte my phone would freeze for 10 seconds, then reboot. This happened all day long on Friday while visiting my family, where they have only cellular signals.

I tried running in Safe Mode as suggested by Google, but still got the restarts. I then did a factory reset and did not restore a backup. Still got the restarts. I eventually restored my backup, but now that I'm back home, not a single restart. What the...?

Hmm, that's a bit worrisome, especially since it was happening in Safe Mode. I'd talk more with Google support and start asking about a replacement under warranty.

Mine actually froze and restarted a few days ago. I unlocked it and went to open an app and it froze during the animation of opening the app. Then turned off. It was lifeless for about 10 seconds after that.

Exactly the behavior I saw. Many times it restarted I wasn't even using it, but the next time I pulled it from my pocket it had been restarted.

My Pixel went to a black screen and I had to force a reset on it to get it working again. I wasn't sure if an application caused this or if there was a hardware issue. It only happened once, so I'm not too worried. On the other hand, a G6 that I had prior to this didn't exhibit the same problem in the almost two weeks I owned it.

Having this problem on average once per day with my Pixel 2 XL 64GB, latest November patch.

It's happened while just sitting on the table, in my pocket, and with Android Auto running.

Dear Google: PLEASE do not use LG for the Pixel 3...

I doubt LG's prior bootloop woes are related to this, since it's also mentioned for the smaller Pixel 2 (HTC). Hopefully it's just a glitch with the latest security patch ...

Happened once to me as well while listening to music. A co-worker had it happen to him also on the same day. We both have Pixel 2's

Someone on XDA thinks it's the LTE modem when it has weak signal (WCCFtech has already used that source for a full article lol). My reboots have all happened with max LTE strength.

Of course it's not...random reboots are a different animal

Did you give up on your Nokia 8? KrisYYC

Nope! I switch between the two. I usually use my Pixel 2 at work as it's smaller and easier to use one handed. For days off I use the Nokia 8.

If there was a way to have two SIM cards with the same phone number simultaneously I'd carry both phones with me all the time :D

Mine just did it again. Pulled it out of my pocket and said requires pin after restart. I thought my one time was a once off. Ugh.

Anybody have missing photos since the reboot? My downloads album is totally gone.
