pixel 2, since pie, during call screen is black

i cannot hangup or access the keypad or do anything.. sometimes the fingerprint unlocks it,. sometiomes i'm leaving voicemail of me swearing at my beloved device

Welcome to Android Central! That happened a couple of times to me soon after the update. I had to press the Power button to get the screen back on. But it hasn't recurred ever since. It's a possibility that a newly installed screen protector or an inadvertent finger could be covering up the proximity sensor that keeps the phone screen turned off during a call.

Seems like a glitch happening, try long press the dialer app go clear catche then force stop see if it clears it out
