Good idea, I've seen that on other phones but I was not able to find that.I have noticed that when switch brands of phones. You sometimes have to adjust how forceful you have to touch the screen. Every company calibrated touch sensitivity differently. Question I know on my essential phone which is currently on 8.1 there is an option under developer options to adjust the screen sensitivity. I'm not sure if that is just something essential baked in or if it's part of 8.1
I don't mind clicking an icon twice to start an app or something occasionally but it's really irritating when I'm typing.I've had touch issues before and after the ota. not many but are annoying. I think it's software related was bad with dialer then fixed with update
So I took the screen protector off, and then I turned off all the gesture typing on gboard as this is something I had issues with on my G6. I also turned down the haptic feedback on Gboard to 5ms so we'll see if that helps. I don't use gesture typing often but I do like to have it when I want to use it but if it makes the stupid thing behave correctly when I'm typing then I'll take it. I have noticed that sometimes the haptic doesn't respond when I hit a key so maybe it's the haptics?
