So the Video is 8 mins long.. I have mixed feelings regarding YouTube reviewers, except for MKBHD. What do you guys think? I think it's a decent revisit review.

Guy is obviously a Samsung nerd. Goes on about the ridge on the edge of the display not being what he is used to having in a Samsung device.

No mention of squeeze to get to Google Assistant. No mention of the extensive integration of Assistant within Pixel 2.

No mention of the Now Playing feature.

No mention of Google Lens.
(Previous three features are unique to Pixel 2, might have been worth a mention...)

No mention of the awesomeness of the fingerprint sensor (esp. compared to Samsung's placement of FPS on S8, Note8)

Tepid endorsement of the battery life--"I can get through a whole day and still have 30% remaining. I can almost get through two whole days, which is good enough for me." WTH? Two days is 'good enough'? Not many phones can do that.

Didn't show a portrait mode shot. Didn't show a low light shot.

No mention of the greatness of the selfies from the front facing camera.

It was like the guy was reluctant to endorse the Pixel 2 XL--"I wish it had wireless charging, I wish it had IP68 rating", sheesh just say it, "I wish it had an S-pen."

Indeed! You know, you hit a lot of points that I think get left out of the Pixel conversation overall. All those things seem to get passed over for some reason.

I don't give much credence to most of these "reviews". Of course these guys are going to compare to their own personal phone. And they are usually going to consider their own previous choice the best choice, it's only human nature.

I often wonder how many were actually sent a review phone and how many bought a phone with the full intention of returning it for a refund after the "review".

I agree with you. Wonder why those features weren't touched on. Most Pixel 2 reviews I've seen have always mentioned things like the Squeeze feature and impressive - not acceptable - battery life.

To the uneducated the overall impression of Pixel 2 XL from this review is, "Stock Android phone doesn't have wireless charging, doesn't have waterproofing, OK battery, utilitarian design, screen isn't very good... so it's got a great camera, what's the big deal?"

He's always been a Samsung/iPhone fan boy. The ridge comment is especially nit picky

I don't remember him being a Samsung guy...in fact, I remember one of his videos is what convinced me to buy a Nexus 6p.

What I can't get over is how his hairline looks like an iPhone X. I just can't unsee it.

Here is my quick take on this matter.

I had the Note3 for 3 years.
Just moved to the 2XL.
Love the 2XL.
Looked at the Note8 before deciding on the 2XL.
The Note8 has the better screen.
However the 2XL has a functional screen.
The 2XL has some unique software features currently not on other phones.
The 2XL is butterly snooth to operate.
It's the end of December 2017 and my 2XL has the 8.0.1 OS update and the December security patch.
I can count on OS updates and security patches for 3 more years.
The Note8 is a great phone, but so is the 2XL
