pixel 2 xl. mic issues

Looking to see if this is known or I'm a special snowflake. When using the phone. Callers can only hear me when I have the speaker on. As soon as I turn the speaker off to use the phone as normal, nothing. They can't hear me talking. I'm not activating mute. Can anyone help?

If they can also hear you on a wired or Bluetooth headset, then I'd guess a faulty primary mic. Try Safe Mode first: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2852139?hl=en. If it persists, then contact Google for repair/replacement.

I Google searched the issue. Most common fix was too treat the lower speaker/mic like an old Nintendo game cartridge. And uhhhh... It worked.
