Pixel 2XL or Oneplus 6/6T

HI,

I am currently having Pixel 1 for the last 1.5 years. It has been a great experience so far but the battery has degraded to the point it is getting unusable.
So, I am planning to buy a new device. The Pixel 3/3XL is a great device but I can't justify spending so much. So, I am looking for less expensive options.

The PIxel 2XL is not available at significant discounts which makes it in the same price range as Oneplus 6/6T. Please advise which one to go for?

Here are my key requirements
- Regular security patches and ANdroid updates
- Battery life
- Camera quality
- Audio quality (headphones)
- ease of use, handling (never used a big phone)

I know there were some issues regarding the Pixel 2XL screen but having played with the device and talking to few users, I am fine with the screen quality on the 2XL. Though the Oneplus 6 is going to be marginally faster, I get water resistance, stereo speakers, 2 years warranty, better camera and better battery life with the Pixel 2XL.
Oneplus 6 has higher RAM and storage, smaller bezels (easy to handle) and slightly faster processor (Not sure it that will be perceptible).

Given the above factors, I am leaning towards the Pixel 2XL.
Please provide your suggestions. I will be needing to buy the device within the next few days.

You mentioned security in the context of the patches. That would lead me to ask, can you trust OnePlus? Also, storage options are the same - both have a 128 GB option. Pixel camera is obviously better as well.

I'd go with the P2XL. The monthly security updates are great, as is the camera. Google warranty is also a plus.

The 6T is going to be slower to unlock with its screen fingerprint sensor, camera is not as good. I would choose the 6 if it was available. The Pixel 2 XL would be my choice...I think I like it better than my P3.

Can you get the one plus's fron tMo with their $300 discount with a trade in?

I am from India, so can't answer the question related to TMobil.

Basically, Pixel 2XL and Oneplus 6T are available at the same price and I am planning to buy one in the next 2-3 days since we have the DIwali sale coming up in Amazon and Flipkart.

I am leaning towards the Pixel2XL. The only major advantage of the Oneplus 6T are faster processor and more memory but I don't think it will make a lot of difference in day to day usage as I am pretty satisfied with the performance of my Pixel 1. Also, I think OnePlys 6T has an advantage of a better design with slimmer bezels.

Pixel 2XL gives me water resistance, stereo speakers, better camera (most of the new Pixel 3 camera features are coming to Pixel 2 as well), 2 year warranty and regular security patches and Android updates for next 2 years. Also, the higher storage of the Oneplus 6 is offset by the unlimited Google photos storage for the Pixel 2XL

Pixel 2XL all the way. In addition to the phone features you also get support, 3 years of photo file storage and a two year warranty. The Pixel 2XL is buttery smooth, fantastic battery, the screen is excellent, and the build is top notch.

I'm not sure why you think there isn't a significant price drop on a new Pixel 2XL because there definitely is.

If you're concerned about the price difference between the 2xl and the Oneplus 6, the Pixel's warranty and cloud storage should make up for that, unless the OnePlus is offering the same.

Last word about the screen...my 2 XL (built June of this year) is flawless. Perhaps Google has worked at fixing the screen or perhaps nothing was really truly wrong with it that tweaking couldn't fix, or perhaps the internet is is full of ......well..who knows what, maybe unlucky people.

Probably, you have missed my post above- The Oneplus 6/6T and Pixel 2XL are available at similar prices. I will be going ahead with the Pixel 2XL
