Pixel 3/3 XL-Share your photo(s) here!

Thanks! The lens was used on the photos of the harbor seal, the damselfly, the squirrel, and the seagull. TBH, I can't remember if I used them on the flowers -- I wish there was some easy way to flag which photos were taken with the lens!

The nice thing about Moment is that they've committed to continued support for each Pixel model (with a case for each), so if you have a lens, you know you'll be able to use it with future Pixel models.

Those photos are really crisp. Good composition too.

Thanks for the reply, will add the moment lens to my holiday shopping list... for myself. Hahaha

Did you shoot with the in-camera app or another camera app?

btw: Moment is having a Dad Day sale on their products - I purchased (Amazon) their 18mm wide for $100. And a photo case for the Pixel 3a at $20.

Regular Google Camera app.

Argh, don't tempt me! I've been toying with the idea of buying the wide angle. But then I'll feel obligated to carry two extra lenses around when I'm out and about.:p

I had purchased the Sirui 60mm because it has the same bayonet mount as Moment, and is less than half the cost - yet some people on YouTube stated that the mount is thinner than the Moments - which it is. I sent the Sirui back and got the Moment 18mm. I still may repurchase the Sirui 60mm and see how it holds up.

No special case needed -- I carry it around in a soft bag, and when I'm out and about, just have it in a pocket.

If I had to do it again, I'd probably go for the wide angle.

So how to you use the add-on lens? Just hold it in front of the phone's lens? It sounds as if there's some case with an adapter (thingie!!! (g)) that would generally be used.

Whoops, sorry, I totally misinterpreted your question. I thought you were asking about a carrying case for the lens. Yes, using the lens requires a phone case from Moment that's specifically designed for the lens -- it's a very easy twist-on attachment, and it's very secure. Their cases retail for $40, but are currently on sale for $20. The cases are very nice -- I have the one with the wood back -- and they provide excellent protection.

How did the Sirui lens compare in terms of image quality?

I didn't shoot with it - however YouTube'rs state that the image quality is equal or better than the Moment portrait lens.

The build quality is solid, imo.

Amazon sells the Sirui portrait lens for around $50

Ordered on Amazon, and returned to Amazon.

Here is an image taken with the Moment 18mm wide with a Pixel 3a

Here is the link to the Sirui lens on Amazon, if interested.

There is another product listing sold directly through Amazon - appears to be an older version. This is probably the one I purchased.

Thanks -- the problem for me with lenses that require a clip adapter is that I always use a case, and those clips almost never account for a case. There's no way I'd go caseless if I'm out on a photography walk!:)

These Sirui lenses are bayonet mount and fit Moment cases. The clip is for people who don't have a suitable case. My understanding is that you can also use a RhinoShield case with the lens adapter made for the case.

Oh, I see! Thanks for clarifying.

My problem is that I like my Stilgut case and so don't want to invest in yet another case.

Took a quick weekend trip to Monterey and Pacific Grove. Some of these were taken with the help of my Moment 2nd gen 58 mm telephoto lens.
