Today I was trying to beat the heat since yesterday was a sweltering 88 or 89. But this morning what they refer to as a "marine layer" moved in and I was chilly with the clouds and no sun. This morning's scene while bike riding. For you Canadians, some of your geese (g)

What a difference a day or two can make. Today was rather damp and cool. The other day grand. And then there's the "warts and all" image pre-Halloween.

And after yesterday's persistent early fog and then all-day clouds where I turned on heat in my den and ignited the gas fireplace, we have today's spectacular morning.

Tried out my new Moment 18 mm wide angle lens near Pismo Beach. Pretty nice, and these shots were into the sun as well!

Really impressive shots! I love the warm glow of that building contrasting with the cold wintry surroundings.:)

Another Thumbs UP. Very nice. Yes, I, too, hope we can travel again. Sooner rather than later.

A mix of this morning's walk and since it was going to be hot, this morning's a bit later bike ride along the north Seattle waterfront - Myrtle Edwards park. Mt Rainier looming 14,410 or so feet over Seattle cranes. The wrapped sculpture is a Calder with the Space Needle behind it. Not sure why it is wrapped. It is a bright orange "Eagle". The building is Expedia's new campus which use to house Amgen. Frankly, it is a nightmare getting to that site since it is on the north waterfront with miserable access of any kind.

Aha, the "orange" Calder was originally "Calder Red" and the weather has faded it. More at: https://crosscut.com/2020/07/editors-notebook-eagle-gets-makeover-olympic-sculpture-park

Cheated a little -- I used the Bazaar filter in Google Photos to pump up the blue sky a bit. This is in Santa Barbara.

Thanks, will dig up some more of my pictures.

Beautiful place + good camera = amazing photos. I actually had my Sony A6000 camera with me, but ended up using my Pixel 3 a lot more.

You should definitely go to Japan once travel is allowed again. Food is so delicious and the people are very friendly.

Thanks! Place is called Ningle Terrace, it is one of the most photogenic places to visit in Japan. Feels like you're in a dream when you're there. Definitely recommended.

You ever been to Fushimi Inari, with all of the tori gates along the forest path? That was also amazing. I went there many years ago, well before the smartphone (or even decent digital camera) days. I'd love to go back there again with my Pixel 3 XL!

I think that is in Kyoto? I haven't been to Kyoto yet, only to Tokyo and Hokkaido. Definitely on my wishlist.

It really is amazing how far technology has come. Now wherever we go we can take crispy clean photos to reminisce with right in our pockets.
