As much as I am enjoying my Pixel 3 (and I just realized on Day 6 that I can browse the web while talking on the phone!) there are a few features that seem useful to me that ought to be considered for the next device, let’s call it my Pixel 4 Wish List:
1. 16:9 display. Keep the same great height and use the extra width for wider keyboard, larger battery and more RAM.
2. Reverse the position of the Power Button and Volume controls. The Power Button is used more frequently and easier to reach in the middle of the phone. Even better: eliminate the Power Button and make the fingerprint reader dual-purpose (as on LG G6); you press it and it acts like a Power Button.
3. Double-tap the screen (and draw pattern) to wake so you don’t have to pick it up, such as when cooking.
4. When a timer is set, a double-tap should display the remaining time. It is just a lot simpler, and faster, than waking up the Google Assistant.
5. Custom text notification sounds so that you know who sent a text without looking. Textra has this, but why force users to another app?
6. Free phones! All my data is probably worth much more than Google admits.
