As much as I am enjoying my Pixel 3 (and I just realized on Day 6 that I can browse the web while talking on the phone!) there are a few features that seem useful to me that ought to be considered for the next device, let’s call it my Pixel 4 Wish List:

1. 16:9 display. Keep the same great height and use the extra width for wider keyboard, larger battery and more RAM.
2. Reverse the position of the Power Button and Volume controls. The Power Button is used more frequently and easier to reach in the middle of the phone. Even better: eliminate the Power Button and make the fingerprint reader dual-purpose (as on LG G6); you press it and it acts like a Power Button.
3. Double-tap the screen (and draw pattern) to wake so you don’t have to pick it up, such as when cooking.
4. When a timer is set, a double-tap should display the remaining time. It is just a lot simpler, and faster, than waking up the Google Assistant.
5. Custom text notification sounds so that you know who sent a text without looking. Textra has this, but why force users to another app?
6. Free phones! All my data is probably worth much more than Google admits.

I actually like the 18:9 ratio, so maybe make the whole phone a little bigger? 5.6 or 5.7 so it's wider?

I would like to keep the power button cause I like the double tap to open camera app, plus it gives you other functions when you long press it.

Double tap to wake the phone is already there in settings.

Unfortunately 1-6 are not happening. What else?

I only have 2 requests;

1 - No bugs/issues at launch. Failing this, please Google, test before releasing hardware.

2 - Make large OS changes such as Gesture Nav optional. Choice and customization is key to Android, without that, well...

Thank you.

1 is my fault, I've been testing for months and didn't notice any of this ****

2 I agree but also I understand the reason to draw a line in the Sand and move forward. But more I agree.

Pixel 3 design, features with the following changes:

1. 6+ gb ram
2. True dual SIM
3. No notch

Thanks, I forgot that I had turned double-tap ON. But after testing for a few minutes, I realize that mine only works - sporadically - when tapping near the top of the screen. Does yours work when tapping anywhere?

Yeah, mine works well.

Honestly I would stop at 6GB. 8GB of ram would definitely impact battery life.

Actually my 1+6 with 8gb ram is very good on battery but I do think it's a waste at this point.

Edit: also love the dual SIM setup 1+6 has

A 256GB variant, not for me necessarily but for those who want that.

6 GB of RAM, same reason as above.

More on device AI/ML. Perhaps start developing their own silicone, though I think QCOM is quite capable.

Increase efforts around video camera and it’s capabilities.

Rick Osterloh sacked and replaced with someone with competence and strategic vision.
5G
6GB or 8GB RAM
Bigger battery
Dual Sim
Design without a mis-match sized brow and chin, you know, something actually attractive
Better quality control

6 GB or RAM
Esim use instead of the sim card. I know the esim is in all the phones, but it is only used on Project Fi
New GPS chip I read about that will pinpoint your location to 10 feet. Great help for navigation.

Overall I am very happy with the 3XL so minor changes

i want 5 or 6 years updates so it compete with Apple iPhone.
need Local Google Store to easily help customer's

RAM should be 6Gb or 8Gb
Google should make it's own CPU and GPU.
Google should create SMS like iMessage,

Google should make budget pixel, mid range pixel and high end flagship pixel
Three different screen size

Google should stop taking our privacy and data or minimize it.
Google should keep the price same as OnePlus phones.

no Notch, dual sim support

I believe the e-sim relies on the carrier to support it
