Pixel 3 vs Galaxy S8

Have you unloaded it recently to see if touchwiz runs decent?
I've got it setup and I use it every now and again. Pretty smooth performance, it's more of an aesthetic thing with me. I've had a couple of setups between Nova and Action Launcher for years now.

Got it....I had heard that touchwiz was decent

No comment until the time limit is up

Lol
I remember from the s3 through s5 days touchlag instead of TouchWiz I called it until I bought the Google edition one was horrible. But they have gotten way better .

There are two things that make me not even look at Samsung. One is the curved screen. I can't live with the distorted view at the edges. The other is Samsung's skin.

I don't notice any distortion, but the increase in glare at the sides is noticeable. I do wish Samsung would go back to a flat screen.

Main hardware differences between the S8 and Pixel 3 in everyday use would be expandable SD card storage (up to 512GB) and the headphone jack. In my use case I can’t live without them and they are worth any trade offs in perceived camera advantages and a subjectively better UI. Carrier-based security updates only lag behind Google 2-3 weeks (at least on Verizon) while platform updates take longer. Check out the S9 if you’re looking to spend less as they’re cheaper now with current discounts and the ongoing crazy trade in values at BB and Samsung.

For me I can deal with the curved screen but that skin...oh man. I can't stand it, Nova is a requirement when I had my S6.

Nova is a godsend. It's an automatic download on all Android phones for me. The very first thing I ever do now.

Agreed, in most cases i always depended on Nova...but this time im sticking with the Google launcher and enjoying it. But its nice to know i can fallback on Nova if i need to :)

I went from a regular S8 to the Pixel 3 XL. I was honestly holding out for a Pixel 3, but someone was selling a brand new XL on Craigslist with 3 cases and a 3 pack of tempered glass screen protectors for $700. Couldn't resist at that price. It's still a challenge using the XL one handed, but I really do appreciate the extra screen real estate (notch and all). So far, so good. My wife has been using a Pixel 2 for the last year and I've been so jealous of the buttery smoothness of a pure Google phone (and jealous of the much better pictures her phone could take).
