I love the pixel 3, its size is perfect and its hardware identical to the XL. What colour though? I usually go for blacks, but the not pink seems amazing

Black is my pick plus I always use a case on mine so it really doesn’t matter anyway in my opinion.

I tend to go for black. I remember a few years ago I was buying a new car and I saw it in black and white. The black one looked so much smaller - I had to check it was the same car! I always use a case (a black one, lol) so I wouldn't see the colour of the phone anyway.
