I have made the switch from an iPhone to a Pixel 3a in the last month. I am having trouble configuring the Pixel to display notifications in a way that works for me.
When I receive a notification, I am alerted on the drop-down menu, and also receive a notification for the corresponding app. My issue is that when I open the app, I lose the notification in both locations regardless of whether I actually open the message. Say, for instance, I open the messenger app and and can only respond to 1 of 4 unread messages because I am at work. Once I leave the app, I lose any notification that I still have 3 unread messages.
Does anyone have a fix or workaround for this issue? I have tried playing with the notification settings and searching, but have not found a solution to this.
