Pixel 4K Video Test = WOW

Here is what the guy who posted it says:

I shot this in two days. I used mild color correction in Davinci. Slow motion was done in phone. I must say that the PIXEL XL blows the doors off of the iPhone 7 Plus when it comes to 4K video. I will say the Image stabilization needs some work. Not overly sharp but looks looks filmic and fantastic. Thanks Google for the opportunity.

I dunno.. I can see Google doing this.... If it's true then that is amazing and if not, it's still a cool video.. LOL

IF it's legit (have seen people say this guy has faked video before) you can't really judge it since the color has been "corrected".

Also, there is no image stabilization when recording in 4K. ;)

Agreed. I'd wait for the gsmarena review for camera samples.

Yeah default agree the video is suspect, however it's possible to use a smartphone gimbal to help with the stabilization. Based on those shots whether faked or not some type of gimbal definitely was used.

Is this confirmed?

The "no EIS during 4K recording" part? It was reported in the hands-on on Anandtech.

It also logically makes sense since 4K is far more taxing than 1080p in terms of processing power (4X as many pixels per frame). And since we know the 821 is the only SoC capable of using the phone gyro for 1080p stabilization that means that feature is bleeding edge.

I dunno.. I have a GoPro Hero 5 and a Garmin Virb Ultra 30 action camera and neither of them do stabilization at 4K.. I don't expect it on a phone when the 2 high end and top of the line action cameras don't even do it...

Great video! As for stabilization it's using a gyroscope-based video stabilization. Not sure what that means but, if this video is for real pixel-shot (which I think it is) then it's good in my book.

Video looks great if it it's legit, but he put music over the original audio. Many phones can take nice video now, but the audio quality of the videos is often their achilles heel.

I'll reserve judgment until I see raw clips with original audio
