Pixel 6 Pro Beta 4 update

I downloaded and installed it.

Google still don't seem to have a solution for sensitive information being displayed on the lockscreen. On Samsung, you can select to just show your notification icons on the lockscreen. On the Pixel, if you have 'don't show sensitive information ' selected, it still shows your email address on the lock screen for certain notifications such as Gmail.

Call me crazy, but I consider my email address sensitive information that I wouldn't want easily visible on a *lock screen* of a phone.

It's not possible to just show the notification icons you received, but not show sensitive information like your email address. No idea why Google hasn't changed this or offered more options for privacy.
Interesting. I've tried using the secure setting and didn't even realize it displays your full email address. I agree that it's personal information and should be hidden. I'm going to enable it again and test it for myself i haven't used it in a long time since I spend most of my time home/ working from home these days

Editing my post:

I just tested it and indeed does show the email address that's nuts. Maybe we should submit a feedback/feature request.

It's been like this for ages though - for years now, so I'm guessing Google are happy with that design choice. It's a design choice I vehemently disagree with, but I don't see it changing. I'd be happy to raise it as feedback, but don't know how.

With this build since it's beta you should have a green icon in your app drawer called "feedback". You can use that to report the issue and even include a screenshot if you'd like.

I've submitted my general feedback. Would be great if Google fixed this.

Google also thinks it is acceptable for someone to pick up my P6P and be able to power it off without unlocking it. I don't like that at all. What if I leave it somewhere accidentally and try to use find my device? Someone could just pick it up and turn it off.

So, now that we've been included in the June Feature drop beta, can we Opt out of the beta program without having to do a factory data reset.

You have to wait until you get the public release to opt out and not have to do a factory reset. This wasn't it.

I'm wondering the same thing. I was planning on leaving after the final 12L release and certainly don't want to do a factory reset.

You can still toggle airplane mode in locked state. Removed and tried to reenter fingerprints which failed first three times registering. Finally accepted it and works well now. FINALLY....

How has the battery been since the update? I've only had it for one day so it's hard to say, but i feel like it's significantly draining faster on stand by when I'm not using the phone but I'll have to see over the next couple of days to be 100%

Curious how your battery is performing with the June Beta?

Just loaded it yesterday so hopefully things will settle, but I went to bed sometime around 9 o'clock last night with my battery somewhere in the 90's and woke up at 6:15 with it at 59% 🫤

We'll see if it settles down any ...

Why would someone just turn your device off if they found your phone? Makes no sense. And, if your phone was stolen, it would also make no sense to just power down your device unless they had a way of unlocking and getting what they want by powering down your device. And, if that's the case you're SOL anyway!

Because they have bad intentions? It does make sense to me. If you're a thief and wanting to eventually flash or wipe the phone, wouldn't you turn it off so the owner can't find it? No way should someone be able to turn off a device that is locked. Only the rightful owner should be able to turn it off.

I never have considered that scenario but it makes sense to have to unlock the phone to turn it off as an added security measure.

I would submit feedback

Totally agree and that makes the most sense.

Besides the phone not being able to be tracked when off, the owner couldn't call it to try to recover it either
