Pixel 6.

I would be thrilled with those prices especially bc I generally wait for Black Friday. I just hope they ditched the under display speaker on top. The case molds look like they did but we'll see. It may not be a deal breaker for me like it was with the 5 but I really hope they got rid of it

Every image I've seen of the 6 shows a small speaker grill in the top bezel....very minimal but should be fine. Same as most other modern phones.

Just watching an excellent coldfusion video on the design of the Whitechapel chip

That is an interesting video. Thanks for posting. It is the Google chip that is making me consider getting a Pixel 6 series when I did t plan on replacing my Pixel 4a for awhile.
I'm a bit curious as to the reason behind Google choosing the name Whitechapel for the chip. Especially because of the association that the Whitechapel district of London has with Jack the Ripper being his killing grounds.

Yes. It is an association. Though these days Whitechapel is the home of London’s biggest mosque. (I lived in East London for about 7 years)

Possibly they were sitting around having a dinner and drinks and mapping out the new chip while in WhiteChapel Restaurant in San Francisco?

Also a TV show called Whitechapel/

I've watched the Whitechapel series a couple or times. It's very good. I'm sure Jack the Ripper comes to mind to the majority of folks when Whitechapel is mentioned. Never heard of the Frisco restaurant...nor of the London Mosque.
Anyway I'm looking forward to the integration of Android with the AI designed Google chip.
Should be ripping good.

I actually watched Whitechapel on Netflix, forgot the name. Decent show. Whitechapel restaurant is quite expensive, but never went into that area unless well strapped and with a lot of well strapped friends. So cannot speak for the safety of the area. :)

Ripper street I thought was better, also placed in the Whitechapel area of London.

Watched Ripper Street as well. In fact between Hulu, Netflix and Amazon my wife and I have watched a lot of British, Australian, and Irish crime dramas. The last series we just finished was "Line of Duty". Great show. Now rewatching "Unforgotten".

Line of Duty was good but past season four Amazon wants me to pay for it and NOT going to do that. I'm stopped at Netflix and Prime no more for me.

With all the hype i forget they coming out with pixel 5a this August ..lol

It has been a thought of mine to get one but with the rumors and leaks of the 6 coming out, I'm going to skip and stomach my current phone for the extra few months. Looking forward to hearing of a speaker upgrade as well but it won't be a deal breaker.

Coming back to the Pixel line from an S20 FE, there's very, very little that could be a deal breaker for me. Leaks have greatly exceeded what it would have taken to draw me back.

Now it just comes down to price and availability (I'm projecting it'll be available such that first orders are delivered on October 20, just in time for me to not be able to have it for the first vacation I'll have taken in 3 years).

I know the 6 is going be hard to pass up, ill be on board with 6 also but hope Google gives better trade in this time around.

I was on the fence when the first pictures came out, and finding out that they aren't using Qualcomm. But the more I read I got more interested. Then I got the push when OnePlus botched the android 11 update and announced the Oppo merger. That was the last straw. My last Google phone was a Nexus 6, so the Pixel 6 Pro would be an appropriate return to Google.

Google engages a 3rd party for the trade-in, so the values are set by that 3rd party. Only way we'll enjoy anything remotely resembling a decent value on past Pixels is if Google chips in and subsidizes a boost, but that's probably not something for which it's worth holding one's breath.

Which means we will be disappointed again:(
