Pixel 7.1.2 update

Re: 7.1.2 update

I may need to download the image. Makes me wish I hadn't done the beta...having to wipe my phone will be unpleasant to get everything working again, particularly all my 2fa codes.
I made the dumb mistake of changing my password, then later stopping the beta. Couldn't log in the factory reset phone for 24 hours after changing the password. Google has really tightened up on the security, except of course the data they steal from you. Lol

Re: 7.1.2 update

My understanding was if you were on the beta, you wouldn't get an OTA till next week. That's why I dumped the beta a 2nd time and then side loaded the public version.

Yeah, I have about 15 accounts with two factor. I lost one once and for whatever reason the recovery key didn't work. Had to get a statement notarized to get access.

Re: 7.1.2 update

I'll pile-on...

Verizon Pixel XL, no update yet!

Also surprised at this. Previous updates on the Verizon Pixel were immediate.

Verizon is probably adding some type of bloat. Whatever it is it probably isn't good for us. These things don't happen by accident. The fact we got all the previous updates simultaneously until now has to be intentional on Verizon's part.

Re: 7.1.2 update

Checked again this morning. No love for my VZW Pixel. WTF?

Re: 7.1.2 update

I have Tmobile and mine had been updated since 7.1.2 had been released.

Re: 7.1.2 update

Just got my pixel XL yesterday from Google for use on T-Mobile. Immediately updated to 7.1.2.

Re: 7.1.2 update

Im more annoyed because I got my pixel XL from Verizon because Google didn't have it in stock and I got tired of waiting...But I'm not sure if getting it from Google makes a difference since Verizon has a say if it's on there Network I really need TMobile or AT&T to improved there services in my area

Re: 7.1.2 update

VZW chat dude told me 7.1.2 is being pushed by Google.. For what it's worth

Re: 7.1.2 update

For what it's worth, it's not a VZW issue. I've had a Good direct phone since October. Some times I get it immediately, sometimes it takes a few days. Relax folks.... If you were on Sammy, you'd be waiting for months and months!

That just shows the inconsistency with Verizon's support. I chatted with someone to ask about it the other day and they told me originally that they haven't received the update from google yet. Then when I said that google said they sent it to all the carriers I was then told oh well we have to do our "testing" before we push it out to customers. So that makes me seem like Verizon is pushing the update not Google.

Re: 7.1.2 update

Have gotten all previous updates quickly on Vzw pixel. This OTA is taking a bit. Still waiting.

I totally agree. Especially coming from the VZW in app chat. Although I did manage to get my price way down on the pixel xl 128, as well as a free daydream, so I guess they are good for something

Re: 7.1.2 update

Not sure who to believe in the debate of who's pushing the update and who's not, but I think there's no denying the simple fact that non Verizon users are getting it, Verizon users aren't. Plain and simple. Why would Google delay sending to Verizon customers? Can't figure that one.
