With a Youtube review scheduled to premier in about 45 minutes, I'm gathering that that marks the end of the embargo (?)

It'll be nice to have some produced reviews that aren't fake and actually involve some length of hands-on experience!

Has there been any talk about the modems in this? Getting a lot of value for my 6P for a 7P and if the cellular reception is better, I need to pull the trigger bc this thing is hot garbage in that category

Just read a "review" on another site and I am not feeling too good about my preorder. The 7 Pro still gets hot when navigating around the block, do not leave the camera on for too long, and the signal strength in some areas was BETTER on the 6 than it is on the 7!!!!! Ouch....if this ends up being true then I think Google will be swamped with returns!

My take on reviews that state issues is that, unless every review claims the same, I assume some cross of user error or issue with that specific unit. Every Pixel I've ever owned has been crucified for having a litany of problems, and yet to date I have had virtually none (across Pixel XL, 2 XL, 3 XL, and 6 Pro).

Also worth noting that (to my knowledge) we don't know when the most recent updates were pushed out prior to release, so it could be that some users are having issues from not having updated or from having 3rd party apps they've installed that are not optimized properly and are causing contributing symptoms.

Hope yours is issue-free. I'm expecting mine to be, and will find out sometime tomorrow if FedEx stays on schedule.

Keep in mind most of these reviewers have only had their phones for a couple of days( only the big guys got them last week) they are running on pre-release software. They all want to be the first to get the most clicks.
Not saying there can't be issues, just saying give it a week or so.

This was a so-called "pro" review on a popular site. Anyway I have since watched about 4 YouTube video reviews of the 7 Pro and they are slightly mixed. But not one of them spent any real time on the MOST important issues like MODEM signal strength, or whether the thing burns your hand when making a video???? Battery life is subjective for sure based on usage patterns but come on can we cook our dinner on this thing or not? Can it hold a connection when traveling? Can it even make an emergency call? They all fume over the great cameras...whoopie doooooooo! This is a communications device first-and-foremost! So then, can it communicate?

If none of them who've had it for a week or so are complaining about those things, it's a safe bet they're certainly not an issue to the degree people voiced with the 6 Pro, as those would be hot points (example, a few reviews I've seen now agree that the in-display opticall FPS is noticeably faster and more reliable, though still not on par with a modern Ultrasonic FPS).

On the bright side, we can rest comfortably that it won't call 911 every time you take it on a roller coaster ;)

The review posted by diesel97 mentions signal strength. Just relax, get it in hand and see for yourself. You are your best reviewer

They have a valid complaint though. I probably would've waited to get the 6P if I knew the reception was as trash as it is. Getting that info is important when choosing a device bc, as we tend to forget, it's still a phone lol.

So telling someone to get it isn't a good idea when the people paid to do it can tell us the info

Why would anyone trust a YouTube review? Google owns YouTube. You think these guys want to get banned?

I would recommend against passing judgment on the device as a whole based on one single person's experience. It's entirely possible they may have had a bad device.
