Pixel 8 cases thread.

I've purchased 6 cases from Amazon, ranging from $10-$20, with the intention of keeping 1 or 2 of them.
I just received my Google store credit today and was considering the Bellroy case.
Any opinions?
I've used Bellroy for the last several generations. Very good quality leather, looks and feels great in the hand from day one and can develop a modest patina over time. Not as protective as some cases, but a good bit better than the ultrathins out there.

It's not inexpensive, but every year, after buying an amazon brand, a Spigen or two, I always end up with a Bellroy, so it was literally the only case I ordered this time around (though I'm eyeing that Mous magsafe compatible case and watching for reviews to see if it might actually pull me away).

Thanks!
I always buy to many cases. Lmao!!
Dbrand Grip has been my daily for 6 pro and I'll consider that again or maybe the Ghost from dbrand.
There's a few I'm looking at as somewhat more premium.
I thought it might be good to have a couple of cheapies and a premium one.
There'll be some reviews in the next few days that should help.

I have the P8P in Bay prepared to ship and ordered the Google blue case coming with it. I understand that prior Google cases have not held up so I also ordered the CaseBorne case https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CGWW551W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Question(s) - I have apparently not followed prior discussions on MagSafe cases and would appreciate some suggestions on MagSafe holders such as a car vent holder. I searched yesterday and the one I was looking at said it was only compatible with iPhones. I'm using the Google charging stand for charging at home.

I'm a farmer and may need more protection but am hoping to avoid hiding the pretty Bay phone.

"MagSafe" is an Apple/iPhone term. When we're looking at Android counterparts, it's all about being "MagSafe compatible." As far as mounts go, if you have a MagSafe compatible case for Android, it should work fine with any MagSafe or MagSafe compatible mount - though it should be noted that not all of them have the same strength magnets.

Also, when looking at mounts with wireless charging built in, these are most likely going to be optimized to the 7.5w standard from Apple, and could potentially deliver as little as 5w on Android devices.

Love the official Google case. This year it also has micro fiber on the inside. 7 pro case didn't have this.

Feels so great in the hand. Highly recommended

Got my Spigen Liquid Air which will be my "use it if I have no other option" case and a no name case pictured below that's actually pretty good. Might even be my daily driver once I get my phone in a couple weeks.

I really prefer to have some sort of ring or loop to put my finger through on the back of my phone and this one works well.

Does anyone have any suggestions for any other good finger loop cases you've had first hand experience with?

I got this case for work, it seems like kind of a knock for the Spigen but covers the camera lens. This is one of my first pictures with the 8 Pro, in a semi-lit room. I'm realizing how good this camera is.

I like that one except I'm not sure I'd want a sliding camera cover, although that's about the best way to completely protect that area.

This is the one I have pictured in my post above:

I think I prefer yours , but I'm only using mine for work so I don't mind.

I choose to order the official Google case for my 8 Pro. Mainly because I own a 2nd gen Pixel Stand and I'd like a case that supports wireless charging. Ideally I'd have preferred an OtterBox but they don’t support wireless charging.

Received 8 pro today and about halfway through setup I put on one of the many cases I have. Ringke Onyx.
Very inexpensive, but really pretty good.
Probably won't make the final cut, but it's a nice case.

I got the official 8 pro case today (blue) and love it. It's the only case I've ordered and, assuming it will hold up, the only case I will order.

Changed it up and now I'm trying the Caseology Nano Pop.
Pretty good too. Better than the Ringke I just had on.
I like it.

I like the feel of leather... I have what my wife calls a rather "large" leather jacket collection, although I think it's "just right" 😄

But I love the Bellroy leather cases, they look and feel awesome, and hold up well for a phone case. As far as protection goes I also like them, they're a nice compromise between not too thick, but thick enough to give good protection in most situations. And they also have a bit of a "cushion" effect between the leather itself and the rubber underneath 👍

Come on, don't leave us hanging (pun intendede). How many jackets are we talking here?

What is everyone using for a screen protector?
I just picked one of the many choices that was rated pretty good from Amazon. Since the screen is flat, I'm hoping most of them will have quality that's about the same.

IMBZBK 4 Pack Screen Protector for Google Pixel 8 Pro Tempered Glass with 4 Pack Camera Lens Protector, Accessories 9H Anti Scratch for Pixel 8 Pro, Supports Fingerprint, Case Friendly, Transparent https://a.co/d/4yjYgrB

Honestly I've never counted them... just kept buying They take up several closets though... which would be several too many if you ask my wife
If you've lost count and filled several closets, I think you may have to admit that she is correct and it is indeed a large collection lol.

Since yesterday, I've tried all 5 cases that I've purchased/received so far for my 8 pro.

Humixx for Google Pixel 8 Pro Case [Military Grade Drop Tested] [Ultimate Silky Touch] Shockproof Anti-Fingerprints Translucent Matte Hard Back Protective Slim Phone Case for Pixel 8 Pro 6.7” Black

Spigen Ultra Hybrid Designed for Pixel 8 Pro Case (2023) - Matte Black

Caseology Nano Pop Silicone Case Compatible with Google Pixel 8 Pro case 5G [Military Grade Drop Tested](2023) - Black Sesame

Ringke Onyx [Feels Good in The Hand] Compatible with Google Pixel 8 Pro Case, Anti-Fingerprint Technology Prevents Oily Smudges Non-Slip Enhanced Grip Precise Cutouts for Camera Lenses - Black

Caseology Athlex Grippable Protective Case Compatible with Google Pixel 8 Pro case 5G [Military Grade Drop Tested](2023) - Active Black

The Humixx and the Spigen are very similar and while I thought I was going to like the Humixx better because it's a little slimmer, the Spigen feels better and the buttons click way better.
Didn't love the Athlex. It's the cheapest on this list and it felt like it.
Ringke Onyx was good and nicely grippy, but the Nano Pop from Caseology feels a little more premium and also has a nice grip to it.
I'll probably keep the Nano and the Spigen and will return the others.
I have a Tudia coming and I'm thinking about what to spend my google store credit on.
I have been thinking about the Bellroy, mostly, but the Google case is getting a lot of love on here and elsewhere so I'm undecided.
Dbrand Ghost and a carbon fiber case are also interesting to me.
